Suehiro Maruo: The Moon Is a Hole in the Sky

Mangaka Suehiro Maruo, master of Japanese comics whose works range between horror, erotic and grotesque, will be one of our guests of this year's edition of Lucca Comics and Games. Throughout his thirty-year career, Maruo has been capturing the attention of readers from all around the world with his sophisticated and luscious potraits of the dark side of the human mind, as well as the perversions of the modern world, framed by his distinctive and timeless style.

Maruo will be the protagonist of an exhibition and a number of events dedicated to the celebration of a career spangled with international achievements, in addition to the Italian realease of the final volume of “Tomino the Damned”, his latest work.

The exhibition will recount the Italian editorial adventure of this Master through 40 original artworks, both black and white and coloured, drawn from his works published by Coconino Press over the last 15 years.

This will be the first solo-exihibition in Italy for the acclaimed author of Saitama: an unmissable opportunity to peer at first hand into the technques and the secrets behind the birth of his bewitching dark world, filled with ruthless demonic creatures, deceiving monsters and kindhearted outcasts, characterized by many facets and never trivial, true reflection of our contemporary reality.

Schedule: October 12th – October 28th : from Monday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm;
