Rebecca Sugar

After graduating from the School of Visual Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation, Rebecca Sugar (class of 1987) became part of the creative team in the cult series of Cartoon Network “Adventure Time” as author and storyboard artist in 2009.

Working for the show created by Pendleton Ward led her to be nominated for the Emmy Awards and to win the Annie Award. Moreover, in that period she was also famous and appreciated by “Adventure Time” fans for the artistic and stylistic quality of the songs written for the programme.

In 2013, Cartoon Network launched “Steven Universe”, the series created by Rebecca, which became one most appreciated CN programs, by critics and public alike, and which was awarded with many nominations for international awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018.

“Steven Universe The Movie”, the musical inspired by the beloved TV series, created and directed by Rebecca, was presented during the San Diego Comic-Con in 2018.

Rebecca Sugar will be one of the guests during Lucca Comics & Games, in collaboration with Cartoon Network.
